I spent the late afternoon walking around Parque General San Martin on the west end of Mendoza. The place was pleasant enough with families enjoying picnics in open green spaces, wide pathways for walking and running, and scenic fountains situated in roundabouts. The small section of this giant park that I visited looked a bit scrappy, though, brandishing numerous tree stumps, branches laying about and small drainage culverts haphazardly dug in the dirt in wooded areas. Overall, the park is so giant, I’d like to return on a bicycle to explore more of it.
