Tropical Storm Tour: Thailand Video 2
Shaped exactly like an elephant’s head, Thailand is a vast, sweltering hot tropical kingdom whose landscape ranges from powder white beaches with turquoise water to ultra-green, lush jungles and mountains full of traditional hill tribes. Insanely ornate, gold-splashed Buddhist temples dot the villages and cities, where ramshackle shantytowns nestle up to glitzy shopping malls. Ladyboys, tuk-tuks and picturesque floating markets also await the foreign visitor’s dollars. Welcome to Thailand, one of the world’s top tourist destinations.
Tropical Storm Tour: Thailand Video 2 heads a little ways north of Bangkok to the former capital of Siam, Ayutthaya, where we visit the spectacular picturesque ruins of myriad ancient Buddhist temples like Wat Maha That, Wat Pakkran, Wat Phra Ram, Wat Lokkaya Sutharam, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Phanan Choeng and Wat Chaiwatthanaram. Pressing onward into Northwest Thailand, we visit the tourist magnet of Chiang Mai, blazing through a forest of color-splashed food stalls and beholding a bevy of beautiful Buddhist temples like Wat Mahawan, Pung Thao Kong Shrine, Wat That Kam and Wat Phra Singh (complete with monks singing) and the awe-inspiring all-silver Wat Sri Suphan. The video concludes with a few brief performances by street musicians and dancers in the markets of Thanon Ratchadamnoen.
