Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
A new floor in the family compound temple at the Arjuna 1,2 and 3 Guesthouses in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
As my flu symptoms continued to improve, I felt considerably better all day today. While the fever, fatigue and body aches remained, the sharp head pains were almost entirely absent, except for a few very brief episodes. In general, it felt like I merely had a really bad cold. For the second day in a row, the Arjuna Guesthouses 1, 2 and 3, which are all housed within the same family compound but owned by different family members, were absolutely filled with noise. A construction crew was busy re-surfacing the “floor” of their family temple, putting down a fine pebble surface with floral designs over the plain old cobblestone. The main problem with that was some of the workers were doing a lot of loud pounding, which got to be really annoying.

A room with a flu at the Arjuna 3 Guesthouse in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
In the morning and early afternoon, my flu symptoms–which included a high fever, extreme fatigue, a headache that felt like someone was shoving a knitting needle into my skull several times per minute, as well as plenty of muscle and joint pain all over my body–were at an all-time peak. Shockingly, when I went to eat lunch at Arimas Warung around 4:00 pm, my sharp head and body pains largely vanished, which made me happy as a camper. I spent the rest of the evening finishing writing and uploading the mega post from the Bedugul / Sunset tour on Monday. Late at night, a little bit of head pain returned, but not nearly as bad. The only flu symptoms that remained were a fever, fatigue, and an overall sore body. Hopefully, I’ll be back to 100% within a week.

My front porch at the Arjuna 3 Guesthouse in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
Despite my worsening flu symptoms–which included a high fever, extreme fatigue, a headache that felt like someone was shoving a knitting needle into my skull several times per minute, as well as plenty of muscle and joint pain all over my body–I somehow managed to Photoshop 57 photos from the Bedugul / Sunset Tour from Monday. Not surprisingly, it took all day, in between boughts of sleep and a couple of groggy schleps down the alley to eat a time or two. But, amazingly, I got it done.

An Eden Burger at Bumbu Bali in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
After falling asleep early last night at 11:30 pm, I woke up at 5:00 am to pee. I was feeling really light headed with a headache and a slightly bad feeling in my respiratory tract. Then I fell back aslumber until 12:30 pm, which means I chalked up a solid 13 hours of sleep! After that long, 10-hour tour yesterday, it was not too surprising that I’d hibernate like that. At least I was able to hold down breakfast, consisting of two eggs and a small bowl of fruit, which was a good sign. After a couple of hours of relaxing in bed, and goofing off surfing the web, I promptly fell asleep again until 5:15 pm!
