Upon arrival in Tuxtla Gutierrez yesterday, I had booked a bus ticket for tonight at 9:30 pm. The manager of the Hostel Tres Central was nice enough to let me hang out in the reception area all day long after I checked out, so I sat on the couch and Photoshopped my photos, typed up my travel journals and posted a couple of days’ worth of entries. I only ventured outside a couple of times to eat and shoot a few photos.

Around 8:00 pm, I took a taxi cab over to the ADO bus terminal, where I had a 90-minute wait ahead of me. In the last few minutes, I realized that there was a small, air-conditioned waiting room that my ticket entitled me to sit in. Oh, well! Too little, too late! Soon after I entered that area, we boarded an ADO GL bus, which is a deluxe overnight version with sleeper seats that recline super far.

Fortunately, this does not affect the people behind you, as the rows are spread really far apart. Another perk on offer with this bus class was a free drink, plus the movies can only be heard with the use of ear buds, which is a huge plus for those who would prefer quiet. Also, the driver was really professional, drove at a reasonable speed and didn’t pull any crazy passing maneuvers. Sometime before midnight, I was so tired, I finally passed out.
