Siem Reap, Cambodia

When I woke up this morning, I didn’t notice any improvement in my throat, which has been sore for two weeks. For the first time, I looked at it myself with a bright flashlight and noticed some white bumps and redness. So, I read up on the hospital situation in Cambodia’s biggest city, Phnom Penh, on Travelfish, and they recommended heading over to Bangkok. Unfortunately, I had already booked a ticket for a mini-bus to Phnom Penh through the Golden Takeo Guesthouse the night before.

Luckily, when I asked if I could exchange the ticket to Phnom Penh for one to Bangkok, the mini-bus company surprisingly offered a refund to the Golden Takeo. Then I booked a bus ride back to Bangkok, where I should arrive Sunday night. I’m going to go to the hospital first thing Monday morning. It’s time to figure out once and for all what the heck is happening to my throat. After spending all day in my room resting, I biked down to the Old Market to buy a Cambodia t-shirt and some postcards, as it was my last night in in the country and I almost forgot to.
