I took off another day and just hung around the Nat 2 Guest House, occasionally venturing outside on eating excursions around the neighborhood. At May Kaidee’s, I tried a new-to-me dish called Guitiow Loui Suan, which consists of tofu and vegetables in a rice wrap. It had an odd flavor–kind of what I imagine sushi tastes like. For a late-night dinner, I returned to ethos for some delicious falafel and hummus on pita bread. The bread was so fresh and yummy, it must have been baked the same day. Nothing else really happened, except when I was walking out of Thanon Khao San and some young tourist girl who looked really stressed asked if I had seen a Thai man run by. I said no and asked why, and she said her boyfriend had just got beat up and relieved of all of his money. A few minutes later, a bunch of cop cars screamed up into that area, probably related to that incident. Be careful out there, people. Avoid alleys and back streets at night as much as possible.
