After I said my goodbyes to the Bayu Mantra crew, I got shuttled back to Ubud today in a little deluxe air-conditioned van with one other tourist, who was from Holland. Big surprise. Dutch and French people completely infest Bali this time of year. We made a quick stop at Danau Bratan, where the driver bought a snack from a street seller and I shot a photo of woman who sells corn on the cob. Since my last trip here, I’ve wanted to capture a photo of one of them as she walks around with a pot full of cobs balanced on her head, but that situation eluded me yet again. After a grueling three-hour drive, we finally got dropped off on Jalon Hanoman in Ubud, and I managed to score the same room I had before at Suartha Pension for an afternoon nap. Then I just got a bunch of work done in my usual cafes all evening, complete with my first pizza in a long time, at Bamboo Cafe.
