Tropical Punch Tour: Malaysia Part 12

    Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Excuse me, where can I find the Sony store? Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I spent the afternoon at the local sales office of Air Asia, waiting to book my flight to Phuket, Thailand. Luckily, it was a take-a-number kind of situation, because there were about 30 people ahead of me, and with just three windows open, only about 10 people per hour were being helped. I spent part of the three-hour wait strolling through a couple of nearby shopping malls, one of which was a dizzying, gigantic 10 floor affair, and sitting around outside reading up on some of the possible locations in Southern Thailand I may visit on the next leg of the Tropical Punch Tour.

After I paid for my airfare, I hopped on the Kl Monorail and cruised up to the Chow Kit market on the North side of Kuala Lumpur. I didn’t intend to buy anything; more than anything else, it was just a grit and grime photo mission and an excuse to ride the KL Monorail again. It’s so fun to look straight down and pretend that I’m flying like Mary Poppins over the pretty lights of the city streets. I ended the night chowing down a plate of delicious spicy noodles and a banana pancake at my favorite food cart on a steamy, crowded street out in front of the Red Dragon hostel. I’ve grown attached to this place, especially the cart, and I’m going to miss it.

    1. I’m writing a post about Chow Kit Market and I’d love to use your fourth photo. May I have your permission?
