    Bangkok, Thailand

I spent the day under a fan in the lobby of the Nat 2 Guest House, catching up on this here Tropical Heat Tour travel journal and photos that I work on so hard for you…and my future memories. Near sunset, I wandered around over by the Chao Phraya river and paid a short visit to Wat Chanasongkhram, where a gaggle of Buddhist monks were conducting a prayer service. I fired up the mic on the iPod touch and wandered around to capture some field recordings, photos and video of the monks mesmerizing singing mixed in with the electric fans and general beautiful ambiance that Buddhist temples always offer. I also did another recording over at Santichaiprakan Park, where ladies gather every evening to do aerobics to crazy techno pop music. As I walked back to my room after dinner, I was shocked at how many families and young tourists there were sitting around tables outside all of the restaurants, bars and massage joints, and wandering around on Thanon Rambhuttri and Thanon Khao San. I’ve never seen it that sardine-packed before, and it was 10:00 pm!
