Tropical Punch Tour: Java Part 7

Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia
After the past several action-packed days, I really needed to take a day off for some rest and relaxation. I lanced and drained that blister on my baby toe, so I had to avoid walking as much as possible. I pretty much just stayed in my room, listened to my iPod and took a nap. At around 2:00 p.m. I decided to go for a bike ride since I still had three hours left on my rental. So, I just jammed around town with the never-ending stampede of motorcycles. It’s so fun to get mixed in with a big crowd of them, especially at a red light when everyone gets all packed in super-tight. The best part is when there’s a huge bus or truck right in front of your face belching noxious fumes straight into your lungs.
At one point, I bought a bag of barbecue potato chips from a kid who sells them out of a little glass cart. He even has a little scale that he weighs them on, which is so funny. I ate a late lunch at my favorite restaurant in town, Bedhot, which is fairly cheap and decorated in a rad psychedelic motif. Next came a three-hour web session followed by an egg sandwich dinner to cap off a semi-mellow day.
